Apparel Trade Shows 2027: MAGIC, Atlanta, LA, Dallas

Apparel Trade Shows 2027: MAGIC, Atlanta, LA, Dallas

Online wholesale is where most boutique owners place their reorders, but it is a poor place to discover anything. You cannot feel the weight of a rayon challis through a screen, you cannot tell that a "mauve" repeats badly across three styles, and you cannot read a sales rep's face when you ask what is actually selling. That is what markets are for — and the 2027 calendar is now published across all four of the big U.S. apparel markets, which means this is the right month to decide which ones you are going to.

Below are the confirmed dates, what each show is genuinely good at, and how to get credentialed before you book a flight. One scheduling note worth catching: as this post goes up, the fall Dallas Apparel & Accessories Market is on the floor right now (October 20–23, 2026), so if you are within driving distance of Dallas and have your paperwork in order, you have not missed 2026 entirely.

Two things jump out of that grid. First, the February cluster is brutal: Atlanta, New York and Las Vegas all land inside fifteen days. Second, August and October force a direct choice between Los Angeles and Atlanta — the two run almost on top of each other both times. Plan for one, not both.

MAGIC Las Vegas: the widest net you can cast in three days

MAGIC Las Vegas runs February 16–18, 2027 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, with roughly 800 brands across the floor. Informa segments it into Trend, Young Contemporary, Modern Sportswear, Contemporary, Accessories, Footwear, Kids, and Home, Gift & Beauty — and the same badge window covers the co-located PROJECT, SOURCING and OFFPRICE shows in the same building.

That breadth is the reason to go, and also the trap. A first-time buyer who wanders the whole floor will come home with a camera roll and no orders. Go with a category assignment: this is the trip where you replace a dress vendor, or build out accessories, or find a second denim house. Everything else is reconnaissance for next season.

If February travel to Nevada is a stretch, note the two smaller Informa stops on the same calendar — MAGIC New York, February 7–9 at the Javits Center, and MAGIC Nashville, May 11–12 at the Music City Center. Nashville in particular is a short, two-day show that suits a Southeast boutique better than a cross-country Vegas week.

Atlanta Apparel: five markets a year and a much shorter drive

Atlanta Apparel at AmericasMart runs five apparel markets in 2027 — February 2–5, April 13–16, June 8–11, August 3–6, and October 12–15 — with Formal Markets layered onto the April and August weeks for prom and pageant buyers.

The structure differs from a convention-center show in a way that matters. AmericasMart is permanent showrooms in a building, supplemented by temporary booths, so a vendor you like is usually still there market after market and you can build a real relationship with the same rep. For a boutique east of the Mississippi running a tight travel budget, five chances a year within driving distance beats one annual flight.

Atlanta's credentialing is also the most clearly documented of the four, which is worth knowing before you book. You will be asked for two separate kinds of proof: that you work in the industry (a company photo badge, a URL showing your name and affiliation, or a redacted pay stub, W-2 or 1099), and that you retail in the industry (two invoices from the last six months showing volume apparel purchases with seller names and amounts legible, or an active company website). You also check in onsite with government-issued photo ID, and bringing a guest costs $50 per person. Sort the invoices out in January, not the night before.

LA Market Week: showrooms, not booths

The California Market Center has published four LA Market Weeks for 2027 — January 11–13, March 8–10, August 2–4, and October 11–14 — plus a June market on the 14th–16th, and the LA Textile Show on February 23–25 and September 21–23 for anyone sourcing fabric for private label.

Los Angeles is a different animal. You are not walking a floor; you are walking buildings — the CMC, The New Mart, the Cooper Design Space — going showroom to showroom, which means appointments carry more weight here than anywhere else. The CMC also notes that Sundays during market weeks are unofficial, with showrooms open by appointment only, so a Sunday arrival can be productive if you have set it up in advance and dead if you have not.

The payoff is that this is where the contemporary wholesale brands most boutiques actually stock are headquartered. Umgee, Peach Love California, Judy Blue and KanCan all sit inside this ecosystem, and seeing three denim lines back to back in an afternoon settles fit questions that months of online ordering will not. If you are mapping a first LA trip, our rundown of the top LA Fashion District wholesale brands for boutiques is a reasonable list to build appointments from, and the Judy Blue vs. KanCan vs. Risen comparison is worth reading before you sit down with any denim rep.

Dallas Apparel & Accessories Market: the quiet workhorse

Dallas Market Center has dates locked well out: October 20–23, 2026 (running as this publishes), then January 19–22, March 16–19, June 15–18, August 17–20, and October 19–22 in 2027.

Dallas does not get the press MAGIC does, and buyers who go tend to like it for exactly that reason — the aisles are navigable, reps have time to talk, and the Western and contemporary mix suits a lot of middle-America boutiques better than a Vegas trend floor. If your customer responds to the Western wear that has stayed strong for several seasons now, Dallas and Atlanta will both serve you better than New York.

Picking one or two, not four

If you have never been to market

Go to whichever of Atlanta, Dallas or Los Angeles you can drive to, and go with a single category to fill. A regional market with five editions a year is a far better first experience than Las Vegas in February, because you can come back in ten weeks and correct your mistakes.

If you are replacing a core vendor

Los Angeles, with appointments booked three weeks out. Showroom time is the only setting where you can compare fit, fabric weight and color consistency across competing lines in one sitting — which is the whole job when you are swapping out a vendor that currently carries your sales.

If you are shopping breadth

MAGIC Las Vegas, once a year, with a written list of the five categories you intend to walk and nothing else.

If your calendar only allows one trip

Take the October market. You are buying spring, you have just finished a full selling year of data, and the January and February markets will still be there if a hole opens up.

What to have in hand before you register

Every one of these shows is trade-only, and the paperwork is the same paperwork that gets you wholesale accounts generally: a business license, a state resale certificate or seller's permit, an active business website, a business card or company badge, and recent wholesale invoices. Get the invoices and website sorted first — those are the two credentials buyers most often get caught short on. If you are still assembling that file, the resale certificate is the piece to chase first — most states issue one in days, and no vendor on any of these floors will write you an order without it.

Then bring the numbers. An open-to-buy figure you have actually calculated, a per-vendor cap, your current best and worst sellers by style, and your real landed-cost math. Reps will ask what you carry, and a buyer who can answer precisely gets better terms, earlier access to new deliveries, and an honest answer about what is reordering well. A buyer who cannot gets the sales pitch.

Working the floor without blowing the season

Write orders on day one only for brands you already stock and know sell. New vendors get a note, a photo and an opening-minimum conversation — then you leave, sleep on it, and place the order from your hotel room against your spreadsheet. Nearly every regret order in this business is signed standing up at 4 p.m. on day one.

Ask three questions at every new booth: what is the opening order minimum and the reorder minimum, what are the ship windows for the deliveries you are seeing, and what is the policy on damages and shorts. Vendors who answer those crisply are usually the ones who ship crisply. And confirm whether they also sell on a marketplace you already use, because if they do, you can test them for a fraction of the opening order — our comparison of FashionGo vs. Faire vs. OrangeShine covers which brands tend to sit where.

Market costs more than the badge — flights, four nights, meals, and three days you are not running your store. Treat it as a buying investment with a target, not a trend trip, and it pays for itself in one good vendor relationship. Show dates are confirmed from each market's official calendar as of October 2026, and all organizers note that dates are subject to change — reconfirm before booking travel.
